Thesis Oral Defense

The student needs to prepare the following items for the thesis oral defense:

• Thesis draft

• Thesis Oral Defense Committee member list:

The Examination Committee consists of 5 to 9 members including the thesis advisor; at least one-third of the members shall be from universities other than NCHU. Most members can be selected from the thesis committee.

• Publication Record (reprints or final acceptance letter from the journal)

• Thesis advisor’s consent

• All items will be sent to NCHU for evaluation approval before the student holds the thesis oral defense. The oral defense includes a thesis presentation and closed-door discussion with the oral defense committee members. The passing grade of the examination is 70. After passing the oral defense, the student must deliver a Ph.D. thesis open seminar within a month after passing the oral defense. The student needs to submit the finalized thesis to NCHU in order to receive the PhD diploma.
